Meet Chloe Hodsgon Pilates and Wellness expert

Chloe Hodgson is a London and Cotswolds-based Pilates instructor and founder of Chloe Pilates, known for her approach to fitness focused on strength, flexibility and  core stability. She offers personalised training programs both online and in-person, with a dynamic teaching style that helps clients improve their physical and mental well-being.
Chloe is a fan of the beauty standard and has been a great supporter of ours, we spent a little time getting to know more about Chloe and her journey into pilates.
TBS: What inspired you to begin your Pilates journey, and how did it lead you to become an instructor?
CH: I have been passionate about fitness for a large part of my life, enjoying all kinds of sport from long-distance running to lacrosse and tennis.​ Having previously thought Pilates a little static and limited, I was encouraged to try a class to build my core strength after injuring my back in an accident and miraculously I no longer have a problem.
This convinced me of the benefits of Pilates and I have been a dedicated devotee of all types of Pilates ever since. 
I took my Pilates to the next level and began teaching as I felt that I wanted to offer the benefits of what I’ve learnt to others whilst also enhancing my own understanding and technique.
Pilates has certainly enriched my life and I’m sure that there are lots of people out there who will soon be saying the same!

TBS: How do you think Pilates impacts both the body and mind compared to other forms of exercise?
CH: I believe Pilates offers a unique balance of physical and mental benefits compared to other forms of exercise. It focuses on controlled movements, alignment, and breath, which help strengthen the body while also calming the mind.
Unlike high-intensity workouts, Pilates feels more restorative while still being effective in building core strength and flexibility.

TBS: In what ways do you see Pilates contributing to overall wellness and self-confidence?
CH: Pilates contributes to overall wellness by promoting a strong, balanced body and improving posture. As clients develop body awareness and control, they often feel more confident in their movements, which can translate into improved self-
confidence in other areas of life.

TBS: What benefits do your clients experience, both physically and mentally, from regular Pilates practice?
CH: My clients often notice greater core strength, improved posture, and enhanced flexibility from regular Pilates practice. Mentally, they experience reduced stress, a sense of calm, and increased body awareness. This combination leads to a deeper connection between body and mind, contributing to overall well-being.

TBS: How do you tailor Pilates routines for different body types or fitness levels?
CH: I tailor Pilates routines by first assessing each client’s body type, fitness level, and individual goals. For beginners or those with specific needs, I focus on foundational movements to build strength and flexibility, gradually increasing the challenge. For more advanced clients, I incorporate more complex exercises and dynamic movements to keep them progressing.

TBS:  We are all so busy all the time, for someone who is struggling to find time to fit fitness into their week- what would you recommend?
CH: For someone struggling to fit fitness into their week, I would recommend starting with short, manageable sessions—maybe just 10-15 minutes a day. Even a small commitment to movement can make a difference, and once it becomes part of the routine, it’s easier to build from there.

TBS: How do you stay inspired and motivated as a business owner and fitness expert?
CH: I stay inspired because I truly love what I do—it doesn’t feel like a job! Helping people improve their health and well-being is incredibly rewarding, and I’m constantly motivated by the impact Pilates has on my clients; lives. That connection keeps me energised and inspired every day.

TBS:  That's so lovely and motivating, what advice would you give to someone just starting their Pilates journey?
CH: My advice for someone just starting their Pilates journey is to be patient and consistent. Don’t worry about getting everything perfect right away—focus on learning the basics and building a strong foundation. Progress will come with time, and it’s important to enjoy the process.
TBS:  For those seeking to improve their fitness and well-being, how important is
consistency in wellness practice?
CH: Consistency is key to improving fitness and overall well-being. It’s not about doing intense workouts every day, but about making movement a regular part of your life. Small, consistent efforts lead to lasting results and help create sustainable wellness habits.
TBS: What do you think is the biggest misconception people have about Pilates?
CH: I think the biggest misconception about Pilates is that it’s easy. While it may look gentle, Pilates requires a lot of focus, control, and strength. It’s challenging in a way that builds your body from the inside out, and even those who are very fit can find it tough!
TBS: What other forms of exercise do you enjoy and participate in and why?
CH: I do a small amount of Pilates and mobility every morning. I then try and do x3-4 strength training sessions a week, I walk every day and I love playing padel a few times a week too.

CH: I have 2 retreats in May 2025 and they are incredibly special!! I pour all my own personal lifestyle habits and tips into my retreats- they are full of movement, wellbeing and nourishment for the mind, body and soul.
